Kirkbride Family History! A blog...

I have unearthed some precious items from my husband's family in regards to the Kirkbrides who settled in Bucks County PA. I am planning on sharing some of these wonderful tidbits from the history book, published in 1913 by Sherman A. Kirkbride. It might take me awhile, but I'm going to *try* to blog and add things in as I can. If you are in this line of genetics - feel free to comment or say "hi!"

The book is a real treasure, so enjoy!

My name is Steve Kirkbride and I live in No. California. My grandfather, who was from Kan sas was killed approx. 1927when he was hit by a car while changing a flat tire. In the move west a few generations earlier, the parents of 12 or 13 kids were killed suddenly and all the kids went in different directions, so we have not been able to trace the family back any further. If you have any information, please let me know at sparkyecv@comcast.net.

the ancesstry of your Joseph Kirkbride is misleading. Joseph K was the son of Matthew Kirkbride. In turn Matthew K was the son of Bernard Kirkbride. However, you list Bernard K's death in 1677. It is important to note that this Bernard Kirkbride who died in Lewes, Sussex, England left a will and died without issue. Consequently the mist of direct ancestors on your website is incorrect. Many others have copied this and other researchers who have the same detail. However, I believe it needs to bee changed.
